Cromer Church to host annual Scout parade

The St George’s Day Parade for North-East Norfolk will, this year, be organised by the First Cromer Sea Scouts, and conclude in Cromer Parish Church, on Saturday 27 April.

The parade will see over 700 enthusiastic participants taking part: including Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, along with their families, representing Scout groups from across North East Norfolk. This lively event promises to be a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and a strong sense of community spirit.

The festivities will start at 10:30am, with the parade of young people and leaders in uniform and with flags, making its way from Runton Road clifftop car park, through the picturesque streets of Cromer, accompanied by the Cawston Band, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere. Following the parade, a service will be held at Cromer Parish Church, where Scout Promises will be renewed by all members.

"We are delighted to host this year's St George's Day Parade, bringing together Scouts and their families from various communities in North East Norfolk," said Matthew Bussey, Group Scout Leader of 1st Cromer Sea Scouts. "This event allows us to honour the values of Scouting and pay tribute to St George, the patron saint of Scouting while promoting a sense of pride and togetherness within our community."

St George's Day is an opportunity for the Scouts to showcase their skills, share their achievements, and celebrate the principles of Scouting. It is also a chance for the wider community to witness the positive impact of Scouting on the lives of young individuals.

Local residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to join the festivities, support the Scouts, and witness the impressive parade that will bring the community together. 1st Cromer Sea Scouts invites everyone to be part of this memorable event, reinforcing the values of friendship, community, and service.
