Eco Fair returns for a third year to Eaton church

St Andrew’s Eaton will once again be hosting an eco fair to give us all ideas on how to take better care of this world.

The fair will be held on Saturday May 11 at St Andrew’s Eaton from 10am to 2pm. It will be officially opened by Rachel Sowerby, the Bishop of Norwich’s Environmental Research Officer.

St Andrew’s Curate, Rev James Cook said: “We’re all very aware of the crisis of climate change, and the need for urgent action to redress the devastating impact we have had on the world. Many of us, however, struggle to know what we can do to help.”

On the day, the church hall will have stalls from local companies and shops showcasing and selling environmentally friendly produce and supplies. In the church, local community groups will have displays about their work encouraging sustainability and biodiversity here in Norfolk.

Dandelion Education, a forest school nursery based at Eaton Vale, will be there during the day with a craft activity for children and Radu’s Keswick Café will be providing vegetarian street food.

Two other events begin and end the day in the same spirit.

At 7am there is an early morning birdwatching walk along the river Yare led by Phil Atkinson and the day will finish with an evening talk hosted by the Eaton Village Residents’ Association. Helen Baczkowska, from Norfolk Wildlife Trust will be speaking on ‘Bringing back Norfolk’s wildlife – what is happening and how you can help?’. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

“Join us to be inspired, informed and equipped to live more sustainably,” said Rev James.
